It was like Katherine & Garrett were always fated to be together. They grew up going to the same church, in the same youth group, Katherine and Garrett’s sisters even all danced in the same company. These two shared 3 first dates. Can you imagine that? 3 separate times they got all dressed up, went to dinner and a movie, and for some reason or another, it just didn’t work out. Apparently the timing wasn’t just right and maybe there is something to be said about “Three’s the charm.” Because that third first date, was the last and final first date.
It happened sometime after they both graduated college and moved back to Raleigh. I knew Katherine in college and when I saw her with Garrett and had the chance to meet him for the first time, it was like she was with him the whole time…or at least it was supposed to be that way. For the life of me, I couldn’t picture her with anyone else. Any one of their friends or family would say the same thing, that it just was always supposed to be Katherine and Garrett. They are the ying to one another’s yang. And their day seemed to express just how special the two of them were.
Every where we looked, moments of real emotion seemed to leap onto our cameras. True laughter, true joy, true tears knowing that what everyone witnessed that day was something unique…something special. I loved every second of it.
I must congratulate and embarrass a dear friend of mine, Zach Taylor, on his outstanding performance as a second shooter. Couldn’t have done it without him!
