Emily + Rigo | San Miguel de Allende Wedding

We at Blest discuss wedding details and timelines with every couple before the big day. The same was obviously true with Emily and Rigo. But no matter how many details we thought we understood, nothing could truly prepare us for the beauty that awaited us when we touched down in Mexico.

After landing, a shuttle drove to the tucked-away-town of San Miguel De Allende and we were in love from the moment we stepped foot on the historical cobblestone. Incredible pops of color, rich culture, and astonishing views were all around us, and that was just the town itself. We hadn’t even seen the couple or the wedding stuff yet.
We lodged with the family (what an honor!!) at Casa Cece for the entire trip–it felt like we were living in a Mexican hillside heaven! Gardens everywhere, terraces that went on for miles, massive fireplaces, curtains flowing in the breeze, and open-air seating areas at every turn. We were floored.
All that being said, the beauty of the house it self was nothing compared to the beauty and love shared between all the people who were there. Laughter hung in the air throughout the entire experience (usually over an incredible batch of guacamole and margaritas!) and hugs were happening in record amounts.
We truly couldn’t believe we had the privilege of being invited into such an intimate and gorgeous weekend. The weekend consisted of a low-lit, romantic rehearsal dinner and of course, the immaculate wedding day. The “I dos” took place in the house garden, and afterward the entire guest list followed the couple down the cobblestone streets in their very own callejonada— a wedding parade tradition local to San Miguel de Allende complete with a donkey, a mariachi band, and a larger-than-life bride and groom.
Signature cocktails with fresh local ingredients adorned everyone’s hands as they ate and danced the night away at Casa Tortugas— a magical secret garden where the reception took place. Fresh flowers crowned the heads of the bride and the ladies all around. A decadent, color-saturated feast decked the tables, and everyone was amazed at the petal-filled pool.
We could go on. But to summarize, let’s just say that the color, the culture, the smiles, and the tears just wouldn’t quit all weekend long. Let us show you:

We want to offer a humungous thanks to all of the incredible vendors that made this day possible and to JuneBug for the wonderful feature.
